City Style: What's In Store

Exclusive furniture lines enhance Showroom's polish.

Despite a major redesign and complete inventory overhaul, Showroom has stuck to its old aesthetic—and that’s a good thing. Beige walls and concrete floors are the ideal foil for new high-end European furniture and accessories by Knoll Space, Cappellini, and Tre-Più. The real news at Doug Gates’s shop, though, is the addition of two exclusive collections. Varenna’s kitchens are at once architecturally intricate and visually clean, while Poliform’s custom closets have enough adjustable drawers, racks, and cabinets to warm any neat freak’s heart. That you can’t get them anywhere else helps Showroom remain both radically different and consistently cool.
