A vintage lamp that manages to steal its own spotlight.

Interior designer Dennis Duffy created a name for himself by effortlessly blending luxury with a streamlined aesthetic. And D Scale, the South End store he opened late last year, only strengthens that rep. The bilevel space features modern, custom-upholstered furnishings designed by Duffy himself—richly textured coffee tables, minimalist sofas, sleek dining room chairs—that mingle seamlessly with vintage pieces he plucks from collectors all over the world. Case in point: this Murano glass lamp, which hails from 1950s Italy. “The shape is feminine and sensual, but it’s the pattern and translucency of the glass that’s really amazing,” Duffy says. “I think of it as jewelry for your living room.”
