What's happening in Hub style.
West Elm certainly has a thing for Massachusetts designers. Décor darlings Don Carney and John Ross of the South End’s Patch NYC have collaborated with the mod home chain on mugs featuring Carney’s zodiac-sign artwork ($6 each). Another regional find? Framed prints of Pioneer Valley–based artist Sean Greene’s sunny painting Typograph 5 ($199).
This month the superhip chain Scoop NYC opens its first Boston boutique at 177 Newbury Street — almost directly across the way from similarly chic competitor Intermix. (We’ll have to do some comparative shopping for research purposes — stay tuned.) The 2,842-square-foot store will carry a mix of men’s and women’s designers, including John Varvatos, Paul Smith, Temperley, and Missoni.
