Matthew Barros may haveÂ recently left Asian diner Myers + Chang for a swanky gig as chef de cuisine at Jean-Georges Vongerichtenâ€™s Market in the W hotel, but he still likes to keep things low-key after hours. His go-to is Chris Douglassâ€™s Dorchester trattoria, Tavolo. â€śI can always find something Iâ€™m tempted to try, whether itâ€™s comfort food or dynamic small plates,â€ť Barros says.
1. $8 –Â Roasted-carrot-and-squash salad with beets, ricotta, and spiced nuts
2. $15 –Â Seared gnocchi with roasted butternut squash, orange brown butter, and sage
3. $14 –Â Nuno’s spicy sausage pizza with San Marzano tomatoes and crushed red pepper
4. $7 –Â Pumpkin cheesecake with quince, pomegranate, port, and mint
