Dana Green & Jordan Cohne
Draw inspiration from their local celebration.
May 29, 2011
Jordan Cohne never expected a casual conversation at Nantasket Beach in Hull to turn into a walk down the aisle. His friend Lauren had introduced him to Dana Green ‚ÄĒ her coworker at wedding-d√©cor company Rentals Unlimited ‚ÄĒ that day, insisting she‚Äôd found him the perfect girl. At his pal‚Äôs urging, Jordan agreed to attend an upcoming fundraiser that Dana was organizing.
The matchmaking scheme worked: Dana and Jordan ended up talking all night, and went on their first date several days later. Two years after that, Jordan got down on one knee in the living room of their condo and popped the question. And thanks to some stealthy planning on Jordan’s part, as soon as Dana said yes, their parents walked into the room to congratulate the couple.
Dana had her heart set on getting married one year after the engagement, over Memorial Day weekend. Fortunately, her father had done some early planning, booking the Intercontinental Hotel for that weekend as soon as Jordan asked his permission to propose. Dana‚Äôs mother had passed away six years before, so her dad made every effort to make sure the wedding was everything his daughter wanted. ‚ÄúThe whole process was really emotional for me,‚ÄĚ Dana recalls, ‚Äúbut my dad gave into every whim for this wedding and made it so magical.‚ÄĚ
For their first dance, the couple chose the song ‚ÄúEverything‚ÄĚ by Lifehouse. ‚ÄúThere were so many people in the room, but with that song playing and us holding each other, it was as if it was just us. It was perfect,‚ÄĚ Jordan says.
(Clockwise from top-left) The couple made sure to include Josi, their five-year-old Malti-poo, in the wedding photos;¬†Dana had an Etsy designer create a photo keepsake of her mother for her bouquet: ‚ÄúThe other side says, ‚ÄėAlways with me.‚ÄĚ;¬†‚ÄúI knew I had to go to Kleinfeld‚Äôs to find my dress,‚ÄĚ says Dana, who wanted a gown with a big skirt.
Dana wanted to get married underneath a chuppah, so florist Domenic Cambio integrated one into the ceremony space.

Jaiselle bedazzled the bride’s flats to match her jewelry; food at the casual cocktail hour included mini hamburgers, grilled cheese, tacos, and lo mein in takeout containers.
For the reception‚Äôs color palette, Dana wanted something ‚Äúsleek, modern, and fun.‚ÄĚ
