Beyond Cozy Charm

In agent-speak, every listing out there boasts a "chef’s" kitchen with "stunning" views. But these six homes have amenities that are truly one-of-a-kind.

A VIEW WITH A ROOM
The Pad: 74 Beacon St., Boston (8,450 square feet, 6 beds, 6 full/3 half baths).

The Price Tag: $15 million.

The Sell: The most expensive home for sale in Boston, this townhouse has a sweet roof deck overlooking the Public Garden that nudges it into "priceless" territory. For urban water sprites, there’s an infinity pool. And while the chef’s kitchen doesn’t come with an actual chef, you can always make it a condition of your offer.

PARKING (A) LOT
The Pad: 128 Commonwealth Ave., Boston (9,000 square feet, 6 beds, 5 full/3 half baths).

The Price Tag: $12 million.

The Sell: From its marble foyer to its penthouse bedroom, car magnate Herb Chambers loves every inch of his six-floor townhouse. He has a special fondness for the spotless garage and three extra heated outdoor parking spaces: When you count Porsche Supercars and a Mercedes McLaren in your collection, you gotta stash them somewhere.

CATTLE CALL
The Pad: 205 Rice Rd., Wayland (9,000 square feet, 5 beds, 4 full/3 half baths).

The Price Tag: $5.8 million.

The Sell: This 12-acre-plus gentleman’s farm already has three cows grazing outside, while a Wild West–themed bar—complete with a pool table and framed photographs of notorious outlaws—is just what the suburban cowboy needs after a day spent keeping up with the herd.

Kathryn Alphas-Richlen, Coldwell Banker Weston, 781-446-9947.

CELLAR’S MARKET
The Pad: 300 S. Main St., Cohasset (8,094 square feet, 5 beds, 7 full/2 half baths).

The Price Tag: $8 million.

The Sell: From the putting green to the 300-foot-long pier, you’ll find something unique just about everywhere you look on the 9-acre grounds of this Gothic mansion, dubbed Lion’s Gate. One of the loveliest amenities is set off from public view: a 5,000-bottle, climate-controlled wine cellar and tasting room straight out of Provence. Oh, and the place "exudes charm," too.

Jerry Heller and Terry Boyle, LandVest, 617-723-1800.

GAME ON
The Pad: 7 Woodridge Rd., Medfield (11,000 square feet, 7 bedrooms, 6 full/2 half baths).

The Price Tag: $8 million.

The Sell: Of course this Medfield palace on 26 acres has its own batting cage—Curt Schilling lives here. But the budding video-game expert also has a 12-seat home theater, equally well outfitted for a raucous round of Guitar Hero or a Field of Dreams screening.

Eileen Strong O’Boy, Hammond Residential, 617-513-4343.

BUT TOWEL SERVICE IS EXTRA…
The Pad: 75 Tilipi Rd., Chatham (6,043 square feet, 6 beds, 4 full/2 half baths).

The Price Tag: $12.9 million.

The Sell: When you drop close to $13 million on a house, you might consider cutting some corners elsewhere in your budget. At this gorgeous estate, you can start with the gym membership, thanks to its professional-grade workout space with treadmill, punching bag, Nautilus machine, and 9-by-11-foot sauna. Now you’ll really have no excuse.

Carl Olson, Pine Acres Realty, 508-945-1186.
