American Idle

When the heart of a dragster meets the soul of a chopper, it makes for one pulse-racing ride.

Those sleek European motorbikes you see tooling through traffic have nothing on the cruisers from Needham-based Sabertooth, which are a different animal entirely. From its fierce aesthetic to its downright nasty growl, the company's 2009 WildCat makes a statement—and backs it up with the eight-cylinder engine of a Ford 302. That's 350 horsepower on two wheels down, and more than three times that of the average city bike. Even if you're not the drag-racing type, there's a thrill to pulling up to a stoplight with that kind of oomph at your fingertips.
