Shopping Strategy: The New Natick

As the largest mall in New England, the Natick Collection—a revamped Natick Mall plus a 550,000-square-foot addition—will house glam Back Bay favorites like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Burberry as well as a slew of first-in-the-area shops.

Nordstrom
The roster of world-renowned fashion and beauty names—Marc Jacobs to M.A.C., Versace to John Varvatos—is mind-blowing, but it’s the dedicated (if sometimes pushy) customer service that gives Nordstrom its edge. What’s more, its sales, especially the anniversary blowout each July, are the stuff of legend. The Natick location will offer on-site alterations, certified shoe and bra fitters, delivery service, and complimentary personal shoppers. nordstrom.com.

Michael Kors
In an effort to make shopping an “experience,” this upscale store stocks clothing and accessories covering the famed designer’s entire range—from his signature collection to his cheap-chic shoe line, Kors—arranged not by price point, but by rotating theme. What you’ll want this fall is one (or both!) of Kors’s “It” bags: the Sutton and the Belvedere. michaelkors.com.
Calvin Klein Natick is one of only five U.S. cities bestowed with a freestanding Calvin Klein boutique featuring the brand’s affordably priced white label, which includes sportswear, fragrances, underwear, and more. The sleek design provides a cool, no-fuss setting for stocking up on the basics—led by denim separates, men’s shirts, and everyday lingerie—that have made Klein famous. calvinklein.com.

Martin + Osa
The Natick outpost of this chain, launched last year by the owners of American Eagle, boasts amenities like complimentary Fiji water and spacious dressing rooms with call buttons. But such luxuries don’t come cheap—and you’ll pay for them in hefty price tags. Standouts worth the money include Sue London ballet flats, the company’s own line of sumptuously soft knitwear, and well-fitting denim from Japan and Turkey. martinandosa.com.
