Terry Francona Book Signing at the Prudential Center

Calling all Red Sox fans! Former Red Sox manager Terry Francona has just released his memoir Terry Francona: The Red Sox Years, and on Friday, Francona will be at the Barnes & Noble in the Prudential Center to sign copies of the new book. This is a great opportunity for Red Sox lovers to meet the former long-time manager of their favorite team. During his eight-year tenure, the Red Sox won two World Series championships, one in 2004 and the second in 2007. An excerpt from Francona's memoir was released in Sports Illustrated, and Francona was quoted: “[The owners] come in with all these ideas about baseball, but I don't think they love baseball. […] It's different for me. Baseball in my life.” The assertion caused quite a stir, but Francona has since clarified that he thinks the Red Sox have good owners.

Free, Friday, Jan. 25, 12:30-2 p.m., Barnes & Noble, 800 Boylston St., 617-247-6959, barnesandnoble.com
