Kisses for Charity with New E.B. Horn Jewelers Holiday Campaign
Before we know it, the ground will be blanketed in white, trees will be glowing with twinkly lights, and department stores will be filled with holiday Musak. Starting this week, you can embrace the holiday spirit while also raising money for charity thanks to a new campaign.
At Downtown Crossing, a mural beckons, “Kiss Under Here,” encouraging commuters to take a minute out of their travels to embrace the holiday spirit. E.B. Horn Jewelers—Boston’s oldest family-run jeweler, located in Downtown Crossing—will donate $10 for every photo tagged with “#EBHolidayKiss” and shared on Instagram, Twitter, or E.B. Horn’s Facebook page (with a maximum donation of $5,000) to celebrate their holiday love collection.
“As a Boston-based, family-owned business, we wanted to support a charity with strong ties to our city and one that brought hope to children and families,” said Michael Finn, owner of E.B. Horn Jewelers. “The Boston Children’s Hospital League does just that, and its mission of bringing hope and cheer aligned with our goal to spread the love around the city this holiday season.”
Rather than the typical holiday sale, E.B. Horn wanted to find a way to engage the community with their family-owned business, while also paying it forward. “[We want] to give people another excuse to share those special moments, and maybe give something back at the same time,” said Finn.
While the banner at the Downtown Crossing station (pictured below) provides an ideal scene for these holiday snapshots, any backdrop counts. As long as photos are tagged with “#EBHolidayKiss,” the company will donate $10 to Boston Children’s Hospital League.
Throughout the campaign, participants will even have the chance to see their face in lights—well, on a billboard that is. A rotating billboard on Route 1 in Chelsea before the Tobin Bridge will feature snapshots of #EBHolidayKiss participants.
You could even get something back when you give. Every Wednesday starting November 22, E.B. Horn will hide mistletoe in spots around Boston, and the first person to follow the clues on E.B. Horn’s Facebook or Twitter sites, find the mistletoe and snap a photo under it, and then return to the store, will get a special jewelry prize. While he wouldn’t ruin the surprise, Finn said, “We just hope that sharing a little love will start, or continue, a chain that extends throughout the holiday season.”
Photos with loved ones, spreading holiday cheer, and raising money for a good cause. What could be better?
