Donnie Wahlberg Parodies Comment Wars with the Most Useless Twitter Fight of All

He had a battle with himself.

New Kid on the Block Donnie Wahlberg just engaged in a very public, very bizarre Twitter war with himself, either because he has split-personality disorder, he’s very easily amused, or—most likely—he’s making fun of you. Yes you. You’re the easily peeved, semi-literate, underemployed crusader of the internet, picking fights where they don’t need to be picked with strangers on social media. We know you.

Anyway, it all began when Wahlberg made a typo, then made fun of it as well as his own inspirational “rise and grind” morning tweets that he regularly sends to his half million followers.

Woof, that got pretty … weird? But before we go laughing at the inanity of it all (and the #twugs or twitter hugs) let’s give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that by taking a horrible genre—internet fights—to its most inane extreme, he’s making some kind of cosmic point. Do we sense a touch of mockery? You bet. And we applaud it, though it’s still not quite as amazing a parody of internet wars as is the “YouTube Comment Reconstruction” series (seen below.) But it’ll do for today.
