New Kids on the Block Lands a Reality Show on TV Guide Network

Rock This Boat: New Kids on the Block will follow the boy band on their concert cruise vacation this summer.

Ah, NKTOB keeps doing the right stuff, step by step. This summer the boy band is making its way to a TV (and cruise ship) near you.

TV Guide Network announced a bunch of additions to their TV lineup this year, and among them is a reality show following New Kids on the Block as they take a cruise with their fans this summer. According to a press release, Rock This Boat: New Kids on the Block is an eight-episode series that “will follow the fun, free-spirited voyage of a few select groups of super fans at sea with the band mates of NKOTB.”

The “Get Lost with NKOTB Cruise 2014” (LOL) goes from New York City to Bermuda from June 5 to 9 this summer. Chances to to buy spots on the cruise have already come and gone, but don’t fret! According to Deadline, TVGN ordered a casting special for the cruise. They’ll air a 30-minute TV special showcasing all those crazy fun antics fans partake in.

Newly engaged Donnie Wahlberg will be an executive producer on the series. Right now, Wahlberg is starring along with brothers Mark and Paul in A&E’s Wahlburgers, which has been picked up for a second season.

As for other members of the band, Jordan Knight has joined forces with Backstreet Boys heartthrob Nick Carter for their “Nick and Knight” tour, which kicks off in September. Joey McIntyre and Danny Wood were also in town last week when they ran the 2014 Boston Marathon.

Before setting sail on their cruise, NKOTB will embark on a European tour which starts May 6 in Stockholm. They also have a Las Vegas New Kids on the Block: After Dark special scheduled for July at Planet Hollywood.
