Oh yeah, All the Way is going all the way… to HBO, that is.

The network recently received four gajillion Emmy nominations, and according to the Hollywood Reporter, HBO Films has acquired the rights to All the Way, the Tony Award-winning play starring Bryan Cranston of Breaking Bad fame. All the Way originated at the A.R.T. and later went to the Neil Simon Theatre in New York.

Cranston won the 2014 Tony Award for best lead actor earlier this year for his role as President Lyndon B. Johnson in the play. All the Way follows LBJ’s first year in office after JFK’s assassination, which spans the Vietnam War and his civil rights bill.

The play’s Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Robert Schenkkan (The Pacific, The Quiet American) will adapt the show for the screen for HBO, which is being produced by Amblin Television, Tale Told Productions, and Moon Shot Entertainment. Executive producers include Schenkkan, Cranston, and Steven Spielberg.
