Watch Taylor Swift Sing to a Boston Children’s Hospital Patient

The pop star paid young patients a visit this weekend.

Taylor Swift—surprised face makersometimes New Englander, rumored doe—found some new fans Sunday when she paid an unexpected visit to Boston Children’s Hospital.

The pop star dropped in without alerting the media, but word began spreading quickly, as these things tend to do. Photos of Swift and the patients made their way around social media, and video of Swift chatting with a young boy named Jordan then singing “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” is already taking off on the web, because, well, it’s pretty cute. The break-up anthem might feel a bit outside the interest set of a small child, but Jordan requested that the song be up-tempo so he could dance. Though he seemed at first only passingly familiar with the Taylor Swift oeuvre, he did chime in with an approximation of the lyrics to the chorus:

Fans reacted with glee to Swift’s generosity, issuing tweets that ranged from the perhaps-understated “she’s not a bad person” to the definitely overstated “MOTHER TERESA OF OUR GENERATION.”

Swift was the subject of a social media campaign last summer to lure her to Children’s. A hospital spokesperson called this particular visit “unexpected but certainly welcomed.” Swift has been spending time at her new home in Rhode Island this summer, so perhaps it was just a spur-of-the-moment drop in. Either way, she isn’t the first celebrity to visit the hospital this week. Jordan, the boy whom she serenaded, confirmed that Spiderman had paid him a visit earlier in the weekend. The wall-crawling superhero is more of a regular there, where he’s been spotted washing the windows at Children’s Hospital. Celebrities. They’re just like us.
