Divine comedienne and Boston’s May cover girl Mindy Kaling’s first memoir was so crazy good that her follow up was an absolute necessity. Is Everybody Hanging Out Without Me? debuted in 2011, became a New York Times bestseller, and essentially established the sassy, funny, and purposely self-important voice that Kaling embraced as her own.
Today she gave her Twitter followers a first look at book No. 2 Why Not Me? paired with the announcement that it’ll be released September 29.
Kaling is slated to give the details on her book at BookCon later this month at a panel moderated by her destined boyfriend and The Office costar B.J. Novak.
Why Not Me? will reportedly document Kaling’s life since 2011, so expect tell-alls about her rise to becoming a bossy female showrunner—see: “How to Look Spectacular: A Starlet’s Confessions”—and tongue-in-cheek romance confessions. We’re so on board.
