Summer 2015 Events at the ICA Boston

The institute's waterfront concert series returns, plus more Talking Taste events and First Fridays.

A state-of-the-art building paired with a spectacular waterfront view, the Institute of Contemporary Art is as compelling as it gets. This season, visitors can appreciate the space from all angles with the return of its many popular summer series.

Every week throughout June, July, and August, people can enjoy outdoor concerts and DJ nights, as well as yearly favorites like cooking demonstrations from the city’s best chefs, and seaside parties on the water.

—Talking Taste—
$15, Fridays at 6:30 p.m., June 12-26

For the seventh year in a row, top local chefs will host al fresco cooking demonstrations and tastings at the institute. It’s just the season to catch up on the latest in-season bites and dishes.

—Wavelengths—
$20-$25, Fridays at 6:30 p.m., July 10-August 28

Friday nights at the ICA will continue to stay lively even after the Talking Taste series concludes. For seven weeks throughout the summer, ICA members and students can watch musicians and DJs as they feature their fresh, wave-making sets.

—First Fridays—
$15, Friday, June 5, Friday, July 3, and Friday, August 7 from 5 p.m.-10 p.m.

For more of a reason to get outside, First Fridays will host seaside parties with themes and specialty cocktails, activities, and dancing.

June 5: Island Time, celebrate Caribbean-American heritage week.
July 3: Party in the USA ICA, celebrate July 4.
August 7: White Hot, show off your white summer attire.

 

—Harborwalk Sounds—
Free, Thursdays at 6 p.m., July 9-August 27

Handfuls of musical talent out of Berklee will play sets against the view of Boston Harbor. Check out the galleries for free, and grab a snack while you’re at it.
