The Bruins may have suffered a devastating defeat on Tuesday night, but hopefully an appearance by Jake Gyllenhaal took some of the sting out of the loss for fans at the TD Garden.

The actor is currently in town filming Stronger, the Boston Marathon bombing movie based on the memoir of survivor Jeff Bauman. Gyllenhaal stopped by the arena after the game to shoot a scene which recreated the iconic, on-ice introduction that Bauman received prior to Game 2 of the 2013 Easter Conference quarterfinals.

Fans were invited to stay in their seats as crews filmed the scene, which took place following the Bruins brutal loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. Gyllenhaal, who’s playing Bauman, looked pretty good while wearing a Bruins jersey.
