CBS Films released the first teaser poster for Patriots Day, the upcoming film about the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, on Wednesday morning.

The movie, which stars Mark Wahlberg and a host of A-list actors, filmed all around the Boston area earlier this year, including at the finish line of the 2016 Boston Marathon.

The first promotional image, which you can check out below, features a powerful, patriotic display of red, white, and blue shoelaces, arranged to look like a tattered American flag.

In addition to Wahlberg, who plays a composite character based on Boston police officers in the film, the movie will also star J.K. Simmons, Kevin Bacon, John Goodman, and Michelle Monaghan.

Check out an official synopsis for Patriots Day below.

In the aftermath of an unspeakable act of terror, Police Sergeant Tommy Saunders (Mark Wahlberg) joins courageous survivors, first responders and investigators in a race against the clock to hunt down the bombers before they strike again. Weaving together the stories of Special Agent Richard DesLauriers (Kevin Bacon), Police Commissioner Ed Davis (John Goodman), Sergeant Jeffrey Pugliese (J.K. Simmons) and nurse Carol Saunders (Michelle Monaghan) this visceral and unflinching chronicle captures the suspense of the most sophisticated manhunt in law enforcement history and the strength of the people of Boston.

Patriots Day hits theaters in Boston, New York, and Los Angeles on December 21, followed by a wide release on January 13, 2017.
