Gisele Bündchen’s appearance at the Olympics opening ceremony on Friday night turned out to be a less controversial affair than initially expected.

The retired supermodel graced the stage at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, where she took a very long walk down the runway to the classic Brazilian tune “The Girl from Ipanema.” Last night’s show is expected to be the final time that fans will see Tom Brady’s wife on a catwalk.

Gisele’s runway appearance was originally going to include a controversial skit. Early reports claimed that the fashion icon would play the victim of a simulated robbery during the segment.

However, creative director Fernando Meirelles said that there was a “tremendous misunderstanding” about the skit, which was ultimately dropped from the program. Meirelles described the scene as a “not funny” gag that portrayed a food vendor attempting to take a selfie with Gisele, only to be accosted by security guards.

Although Gisele didn’t get a chance to show off her acting skills at the opening ceremony, she definitely had a good time. Gisele was spotted getting her groove on as she danced in the crowd.
