Emotions were running high for Gisele Bündchen following her stunning appearance at the Olympics opening ceremony on Friday night.

Since this year’s festivities were held in her native country of Brazil, the event was always going to be a memorable evening for the retired fashion icon. However, things got even more emotional for Gisele while chatting with Access Hollywood, as the show informed her of Tom Brady’s touching Facebook post, which congratulated his wife on her big day.

“It makes me emotional. Let’s stop talking about it,” Gisele joked. “He’s so sweet. He’s my husband, of course. If your husband doesn’t love you, who will?”

“Thank you, love you, thank you. I appreciate it,” she added. “He’s so supportive, you know?”

Gisele also opened up about the many controversies that have surrounded this year’s Olympic Games. She believes that, at the end of the day, the passion and dedication of Brazil’s people will outshine the event’s many criticisms.

“I think there is always going to be the criticism, because that’s what happens when there is a spotlight on something,” Gisele said. “Brazil had it’s challenges, but it was a wonderful, beautiful way to show that, in the end, the love, the dedication, the hard work, the heart of the Brazilian people and their passion for really actualizing something so unique and special came through.”
