Martha’s Vineyard has played host to everyone from President Barack Obama to Jennifer Lawrence, so it’s no surprise that another big star is coming to the island.

Organizers recently announced that Sharon Stone will make an appearance on the second night of the 11th annual Martha’s Vineyard International Film Festival. The humanitarian and Golden Globe-winning actress is set to receive the the Martha’s Vineyard Film Society Global Citizen Award for her philanthropic efforts around the world.

Stone will be honored during a ceremony at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 9, that will be held at the MV Film Center in Vineyard Haven prior to a screening of the French film Fatima.

The festival will also feature the world premiere of An Undeniable Voice, a new documentary short directed by Price Arana and produced by Stone. In the film, Stone converses with Holocaust survivor Sam Harris, one of the youngest people to ever make it through a German concentration camp during World War II.

An Undeniable Voice is one of ten finalists vying for the top prize in the Short Films Juried Competition on Saturday, September 10.
