Whether it’s working as co-stars on a movie or living together as roommates, Matt Damon has spent a lot of time with the Affleck brothers over the years. So obviously there’s no better person to ask about how the pair acts behind the scenes.

During a Toronto International Film Festival dinner for the upcoming Massachusetts-set drama Manchester by the Sea, E! News got Damon to dish on his longtime, famous friends. The actor and producer surprisingly revealed that one of the Affleck brothers is a bit more difficult to work with than the other.

“Not to throw him under the bus, but Ben is much easier to work with,” Damon said. “I mean, with Casey and I, we’ve done a bunch of movies together. We did one of [director Kenneth Lonergan’s] plays in London 14 years ago, and I’ll never forget the day we were on-stage rehearsing and he started telling me how I should play my part.”

The actor went on to describe the hilarious interaction where Damon, reluctant to take Casey’s advice, made the younger Affleck brother show him how to play the role.

“Then he did it and it was so much better than what I was doing,” Damon admitted. “I had to kind of take his suggestion, but I had to try and hold onto my pride.”

He did praise Casey for being a gifted actor and writer before adding, “But he can be frustrating.”
