Brandeis University professor and women’s rights icon Anita Hill headlines this year’s Massachusetts Conference for Women. Hill, whose courageous testimony famously complicated the nomination process for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, will be a keynote speaker at the December 8 event.

Ben Affleck’s back for his last big-screen outing of 2016. This time around, he pulls double duty as star and director of Live by Night, an adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s novel about a Prohibition-era gangster. The undoubtedly gritty and heavily accented thriller was shot in the North End and other Boston locations last year, and hits theaters in limited release Christmas Day.

All the pop stars your kids love to make you listen to on the car ride to school are taking over the Garden on December 11 for Kiss 108’s annual Jingle Ball. This year’s installment brings chart-toppers Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, Diplo, Ellie Goulding, DNCE, former One Direction-er Niall Horan, and more to Boston. If you’ve heard of at least a few of those performers, it’ll be a good time.
