The Frosty Fridays package
Where: The Colonnade Hotel, 120 Huntington Avenue, Boston
When: Available through March 29, 2017
How much: Pay the temperature on Friday night and $289 on Saturday night

This winter, the cure for cabin fever is a dramatic dip in temperatures. It may seem counterintuitive to wish for colder weather, but 17 degrees never looked so appealing coupled with The Colonnade Hotel’s signature Frosty Fridays package.

It works like this: book two nights (Friday and Saturday) at the hotel, then pay the temperature outside for Friday night and $289 for Saturday night. Rates are not judged by excessive teeth chattering—rather the temperature is based on Friday’s 5 p.m. reading by the National Weather Service.

The cold weather special makes for a cozy staycation. It includes accommodations for two guests, access to a make your own hot chocolate bar with marshmallows, caramel, cinnamon sticks, and other goodies, plus complimentary overnight parking (which means no brushing snow off the windshield). The package also offers the option to play tourist for a day with either free admission and skate rentals for four at the Boston Common Frog Pond or tickets for an Old Town Trolley Tour.
