Color Commons Opening

Throw on a jacket and make a trip to the Rose Kennedy Greenway tonight for a temporary art installation by New American Public Art. The new installation will allow for interaction with the Light Blades on the Greenway. As the event begins, a phone number will be revealed to which viewers will be able to text message a color and watch as the Light Blade changes instantly. Make sure you bring your cell phone along so you can join in on the excitement. There will also be an after-party at Brandy Pete’s from 7 to 9 p.m.

Free ski lessons are available through pre-registration and the purchase of a trail pass.

Comedy
The Dress-Up Show

Are you in need of a good laugh? Mottley’s Comedy Club has the solution. Join Bethany Van Delft and fellow host Erin Judge for their not-so-typical twist on a stand-up comedy showcase. The pair have invited plenty of local comedians to join them onstage, and all performers must dress up. Audience members are also invited to join in on the fun, with the chance to participate in contests and win prizes.

$10-30, Thursday, Jan. 10, 8 p.m., Mottley’s Comedy Club, 61 Chatham St., 877-615-2844, mottleyscomedy.com

If the time allotted is not enough to complete the ring, additional time is available for $10 per hour.

It’s time for some good laughs and fun a night. Stand-up comedian and ventriloquist Jeff Dunham returns to the road after a stint of television and movie success. Dunham’s series and specials on Comedy Central have become the highest rated programming on the network, and his recent DVD received platinum status within a week of being released. This will be Dunham’s first appearance in Boston for the new year. This is not a show you want to miss out on, so get your tickets today.
