Jeff Bauman Is Signing Copies of His New Book, Stronger at Prudential Center
The Boston Marathon bombings survivor will be at Barnes & Noble on April 24.
The cover line for Jeff Bauman’s new book Stronger says it all: “I saw the bomber. He took my legs, but he didn’t break me. He only made me… Stronger.”
One of the most anticipated books to be published in relation to the Boston Marathon bombings, Stronger tells Bauman’s story in his own words. He opens up about the day of the bombings, the FBI investigation and manhunt, and life after losing his legs. The book, coauthored by Bret Witter, comes out April 8, and Bauman will sign copies of Stronger at the Prudential Center Barnes & Noble later this month.
A full-body photo of Bauman graces the cover of his memoir. He stands confidently on his two prosthetic legs, hands on hips, chest puffed, proudly wearing a T-shirt with the word “Boston” strategically appearing above the title. It’s an empowering image of Bauman, a stark contrast to previous photos of him—especially the now-iconic image from the bombings that made him famous.
Since last April, Bauman’s recovery has been well-documented by media, whether it be through a New York Times feature, appearances around town, or even the recent announcement that he and Erin Hurley are engaged and expecting a child. Stronger, however, is the first time Bauman shares with the general public an all-encompassing narrative spanning the day of the marathon through his challenging recovery.
Jeff Bauman’s book signing will take place Thursday, April 24, at noon at Barnes & Noble in the Prudential Center, 800 Boylston St., Suite 179, Boston, 617-247-6959, barnesandnoble.com. Stronger comes out April 8.
