With all the thunderstorms, we could have real-life pyrotechnics in the sky on July 4. On that note, we'll be playing it safe under a roof for free bowling and billiards at Kings' Indoor Beach BBQ. They'll have a special barbecue menu, a Twister competition, and summer sports on Nintendo Wii.

Fourth of July at Marina Bay

The perfect spot to enjoy the Boston Fireworks as they light up the sky. The 12-hour celebration begins with Crystal Waters, who will perform her 90s dance hit "Gypsy Woman," and Jes will perform her club anthem "As the Rush Comes" and the Tiesto hit "Everything." The all-day event is presented by New York City's DJ Louie DeVito, who hosts shows "In the Mix" and "The Beat" on Sirius Satellite Radio. Other Boston DJs performing include Adilson, DJ Bruno, Joe Bermudez, Richard Fraioli, Craig Mitchell, DJ Play, Jardo, and Santi & Jave.

"Dear Summer" Independence Day Soiree

It's an exclusive Black & White party under the stars. Experience the starry view from this new outdoor lounge, while DJ Neebor & DJ Massive spin hip hop classics, R&B, top 40, neo-soul, and old school reggae. Proper dress is required (cocktail dresses for the ladies, and jackets are suggested for the men). You must buy tickets in advance, as none will be sold at the door.

4th of July Party @ STIX Lounge

Stix Restaurant & Lounge, 35 Stanhope St.
Grill during the day and party at night. Stix Lounge features two floors and two DJs, plus a great view of the fireworks from the patio. Upstairs, DJ Alkan will spin top 40, international, and hip-hop, while downstairs, DJ Su Master will play top 40, desi, Bhangra, Bollywood, and mashups. Drinks will be sponsored by Level One Vodka.

Kicking off on Independence Day, a politic will showcase politically-inspired artwork from 40 US artists, with themes relating to the economy, war, freedom, the environment, media ethics, capitalism, and terrorism. The preview event will take place on July 2, and will feature an outdoor installation of a billboard-sized piece by Ron English (www.popaganda.com)

Cultural Survival Bazaar

The Cultural Survival Bazaar celebrates the music, food, art, and crafts of artisans in Africa, Asia, and the Americas. It includes a series of events organized throughout New England, in which indigenous groups committed to ethical business practices sell crafts, artwork, clothing, jewelry, and food.
