Food without wine is, well, just food. But add the right wine and a meal can become a symphony, a masterfully composed creation of flavors and textures married in perfect harmony. It makes sense that at a restaurant with food as sophisticated as Michael Schlow's, the wine list would be up to the task of accompanying it. That's thanks to co-owner and wine director Christopher Meyers, who personally oversees the wine selections. In one dinner alone we were treated to a delicious champagne, a South African sauvignon blanc, and a French syrah. The variety of wines is dizzying, with choices spanning the globe from Chile to New Zealand, and at prices that range from a splurge to the truly outrageous.
