Best of Boston 2004 Restaurant, Romantic - Cape Cod
Chillingsworth
|
Stuffy moniker notwithstanding, this 300-year-old estate is home to one of the most enchanting dining experiences in all of New England. In a dining room teeming with antiques, fresh flowers, and ultra-smooth service, Chillingsworth charms lovers with the luscious richness of French cuisine mixed with a welcome soupçon of brighter, lighter flavors. Witness the seared Cape sea scallops napped with corn custard, mushroom-and-corn ravioli and corn jus and such cute turns as a black and white truffle "mac & cheese" and pineapple carpaccio for dessert. So what if "Chillingsworth" sounds like a Brahmin's butler? For pure romance, it can't be beat.
