Gird Yourselves For a Full Day of Commuting Nightmares
Yesterday, Boston Daily had a crappy commute, but that’s nothing compared to the hellish turn public transit has already taken today. Two trains collided at Boylston, sending several people to the hospital. The Green Line is running shuttle buses between Kenmore and Park Street, and bus lines are also delayed due to the incident.
We knew we should have stayed home today.
Here’s what the MBTA tells us.
Due to a medical emergency at Boylston station a bus shuttle will be running between Kenmore and Park Street. We are experiencing significant delays. Please seek alternative lines where possible and allow extra time for your commute.

Seven to nine people were taken to the hospital complaining of back and neck pain after two Green Line trolleys collided this morning at a platform at the Boylston Street station, according to a paramedic and a spokesman for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.
A paramedic at the scene told a Globe reporter that nine people had been taken to the hospital. Two to three of the injured were carried out of the station on stretchers.
There was no visible damage to the trolleys. [MBTA Spokesman Joe] Pesaturo said the vehicles sustained minor damage, although one car derailed.
By the time the train collision is cleaned up, the flakes will be flying at 1 to 2 inches per hour for the evening commute. If you’ll excuse us, we’re going to run to REI to pick up some snowshoes. It’ll probably be faster if we walk home tonight.

No, it was totally awesome standing in Kenmore Square at 9 am when I left Coolidge Corner at 8:15 so I could get to work early to prepare for a meeting I LOVED IT. My favorite part I think was when the bus didn’t take a route I was familiar with and people started ringing the stop bell willy nilly and I had no idea where to get off because I take the T so I DON’T DRIVE IN BOSTON.
No, I lied. My favorite part was calling my supervisor for the 3rd time in 2 weeks to let her know I was going to be late due to the T. The service is AWESOME.

wow, you sure are cranky! people were hurt in an accident and all you can think about is how you were late to work? life is too short and too precious to let being late cause this sort of a reaction. relax, smile, have a glass of wine, enjoy life (even these unexpected inconveniences)
