No one seems to be complaining about the Sox handing their franchise to a 28 year-old Epstein. Sure, Edes will be missed. But Snow handled the job well at 23, and Benjamin can definitely hold her own. She's been splitting duty with Gordon, so perhaps now she'll get the chance to come into her own. Truth is, the beat is hardly the job that Edes wanted at this stage in his career. Snow and Benjamin summer interns? There was a time when the Metro-West papers were the training ground for these type of writers. Now, between Snow-job and All-About-the-Benjamin, it seems the Globe is fine with giving away its prized beat to the equivalent of summer interns.
