Julie Donaldson’s Ordeal Continues
Yesterday, Channel 7 sports reporter Julie Donaldson got some good news and some bad news. Her allegedly abusive boyfriend, SlamBall player Ivan Lattimore, was ordered held without bail until his September trial. But the judge also required the prosecution to turn over all the evidence against Lattimore to his lawyers, including a tape of the couple having sex.
The sex tape isn’t the only thing that could hurt Donaldson’s reputation. Lattimore’s court-appointed lawyer grilled the reporter about her heavy drinking the night she says her boyfriend punched and bit her.
[Lawyer Jessica] Thrall sought to portray Donaldson and Lattimore as hard partiers who videotaped themselves having sex just hours before the alleged assault. Donaldson said she drank two bloody Marys at lunch, three glasses of sangria and four shots in the afternoon, a Vodka drink with dinner, and several shots at Saint.
Her partying before the alleged abuse took place is no worse than other behavior by WHDH employees (Goldklank!), but Jessica Heslam reports that the News Station has been mum about Donaldson’s trials.
WHDH-TV reported on the dangerousness hearing during last night’s news, but didn’t issue a statement even to say they support Donaldson - a alleged victim of domestic violence. Station General Manager Mike Carson declined comment.
Aside from a quick blurb reporting the incident on the station’s website, the station seems to have continued its silence on the matter today. As Heslam subtly reminds the station, one of its employees is allegedly a victim of domestic abuse. A quick, public, “Hey, we’re here for you,” seems like it would be in order.

It would be in order Amy but Ch.7 is the bad karma capital of New England.If Julie’s looking to heal, this ain’t the place to do it.

Why is it that if a women claims domestic abuse she is automatically considered a victim and deemed an innocent party. What happened to our innocent until proven guilty theory. How many times have I heard in the media, on TV, in films and other popular culture women manipulating this system to get what they want. Threating men with not calling in a complaint in exchange for whatever. Why is it that if a women abuses a man it’s a joke. (Look at any popular TV show).
It is right and correct for any employer not to take sides on any accusation until the truth is know. Even though this society has totally overreacted to the domestic abuse problem. WHDH-TV is doing the right thing

Possibly, Channel 7 realizes this is such an embarassing train wreck that it presumes Ms. Donaldson doesn’t need one more media outlet piping in, one way or the other, in any way on her case. ‘Course, seems the genie’s out of the bottle so perhaps they should re-cast themselves as the Vasoline-lensed — no, that’s not a reference to the sex tape but a metaphor for treacly coverage— all Julie/all sympathy network and revisit her case every night, sometime between sports and weather. Channel 7 might also want to file an abuse petition against its own HR Department to stop pummeling it with all flash, no substance hires. Maybe it could get an injunction against any hire that doesn’t date exclusively through eHarmony or a church group.

JULIE is a beautiful itelligent woman. Dont you dare blame the victim of domestic volience for her abuse. Everybody drinks. KEEP THIS GUY IN JAIL!
