It turns out that Republican senatorial hopeful Jim Ogonowski has fallen 30 signatures short of getting his name on the primary ballot, thus ruining our hopes for an epic John Kerry-Ogonowski matchup.

Jim Ogonowski’s Lackluster Senate Campaign Continues?

Things started looking bad for Jim Ogonowski, presumptive challenger to John Kerry, last week when the Globe reported that he was a couple hundred signatures short of getting his name on the Republican primary ballot. Marty Meehan in the fifth district — wasn’t invited to speak at tomorrow’s state house ceremony. Ogonowski’s brother piloted one of the hijacked planes on 9/11. For the last four years, at the request of then Governor Mitt Romney, Ogonowski has spoken to the state house assembly in remembrance of those who lost their lives.
