Gene Raymond, The Architect

Gene Raymond has been designing and constructing custom residences on the South Shore for over twenty years. Based in Hingham, MA, his firm, Gene Raymond Jr., Architect provides a broad array of professional services to his clients, including master planning, architectural design, and construction oversight.

He is a member of the Boston Society of Architects, the American Institute of Architects, and the United States Green Building Council. In addition, Gene has served multiple terms as a member of the Hingham Historic District Commission.

As both a Wellesley native and having raised his own family in historic Hingham over the past twenty-plus years, Gene's designs are both contextually-based and traditionally inspired, drawing upon the time-honored design principals of New England village life and the enormous variety of antique home styles constructed over the past three and a half centuries in and around the Boston area.

Gene is a "builder at heart". He brings a keen eye to important details and marries them to practical, cost-effective layouts that respect each home's unique neighborhood, site, solar orientation and views. His light-filled homes 'flow' effortlessly in plan, integrating interior rooms with exterior living spaces and maximizing the value of every constructed element by assuring that each facet of his design is practical, flexible and well integrated into the daily life of his clients.
