Beyond Boston

New Restaurant, West
80 Thoreau

City dwellers happily hop the Fitchburg line to the Concord Depot train station and head directly upstairs to the impeccable 80 Thoreau, where chef Carolyn Johnson (formerly of Rialto) cooks up some of the most consistently well-executed farm-to-table fare around, from a creamy parsnip-and-nettle soup with green garlic to seared skate with asparagus and walnuts. The management team’s résumés include stints at New York’s Craft, Per Se, and Rainbow Room, ensuring service is as impeccable as the cuisine.

The dreams of yesteryear which my husband so enjoyed being a part of have come true with the Concord Depot’s award winning 82 Thoreau fine dining experience! I happily enjoyed a beautiful evening last year when my daughter and her husband (Nancy and Steve Honan) joined Julie Turner and me for dinner and a great getting together with so many old friends ….. meeting the owners and being enjoyed was and always will be a great and momentous memory
