Hans Klingemann

Being diagnosed with an incurable bone marrow blood cancer can be very devastating. Fortunately, my husband was referred to Dr. Hans Klingemann at Tufts Medical Center in Boston Massachusetts. In meeting with Dr. Klingemann, he was very gracious, polite, and attentive. Dr. Klingemann spent the morning with us reviewing my husband’s condition and discussing the best treatment options. Dr. Klingemann recommended an autologous stem cell transplant using your own bone marrow stem cells followed by an allogeneic bone marrow transplant which is a donor cell transplant. Fortunately, my husband had a brother who was a perfect match. Knowing Dr. Klingemann worked as a physician, scientist, and researcher who is world renowned for his expertise in diagnosing and treating serious blood malignancies we felt very comfortable with the recommended treatment plan. Dr. Klingemann is also well known for his expertise in treating Graft vs Host Disease(GVHD) which occurs when a patient receives donated bone marrow or stem cells from someone else’s immune system.
During this lengthy process, Dr. Klingemann was always very thorough in explaining all the different steps and procedures my husband would encounter during the transplants. Dr. Klingemann was also very dedicated, caring and returned our phone calls whenever needed in a timely manner.
It has now been six years since the bone marrow transplants, and thankfully for Dr. Klingemann and the Bone Marrow Team at Tufts Medical center, my husband continues to do very well.

Also, I highly recommend for everyone to read the book, “Stem Cells 4 U?” by Dr. Hans Klingemann. I found the book very informative and easy to follow to understand the medical advances with stem cells, and how stem cell transplants have remarkably transformed the lives of many patients.
