Q How do you select the restaurants in the competition?

A Working from a list of over 200 restaurants (which included asking you, the public, who you wanted to see compete), we invited a variety of restaurants to submit their best burger (beef, turkey, chicken, fish, veggie) for the competition. It is up to the restaurants to decide if they want to enter the ring.

Q Who will be competing at the Battle of the Burger event?

A The restaurants that are voted into the top 20 by the public during the official voting period May 13th-July 8th will be invited to cook at the competition.

Q How can I purchase event tickets?

A Click the “Battle Event Tickets” tab to purchase tickets. Tickets are limited, so don’t delay!

Q What is included in the General Admission ticket?

A

Entry from 7:00-10:00pm

* Taste the top 20 restaurants’ burgers

* Meet the chefs and see them in action

* Enjoy copious amounts of Amstel ® Light

* Dance to the live entertainment

* Devour custom side dishes and desserts

Q What is included in the VIP ticket?

A

Access to all General Admission items, plus:

* Beat the crowds and gain access to the event one hour early

* Kick back in the exclusive VIP lounge with special services, custom cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres

* Bring home a VIP gift bag with offerings from sponsors, chefs, and more!

Q What is the voting period?

A May 13-July 8, 2013

Q How often can I vote?

A You may vote one time per day. By voting, you are entered for a chance to win Battle of the Burger tickets!

Q Help! I’m the only carnivore in my group of friends. Will my friends have anything to eat at the August 13th event?

A We encourage the chefs to feature all types of burgers, not just beef based. We also invite additional restaurants to participate in the event with side dishes and desserts. Don’t worry, no one will go home hungry!

Q What else happens at the event besides tasting burgers?

A While tasting the top 20 burgers, you will have the chance to meet the featured chefs and see them in full action! There will also be live music, photo opportunities, relaxing lounges, as well as additional dishes, dessert and Amstel® Light! This is one of our most popular events, so trust us…you don’t want to miss out!

Q How is the winner of the event picked?

A Each guest will have exactly one vote to cast during the event. After tasting the burgers throughout the evening, guests will submit their vote for the burger champion. We will tally the votes and announce the Battle winner, along with first and second runner up at the end of the evening on stage.

Q Are there any ticket giveaways?

A We will be giving away some tickets through social media contests. Follow us @BosMagEvents and use #BurgerBattle or “Like” us on Facebook to stay on top of our promotions. Also, every time you vote you are entered to win a pair of tickets to the event.

Q How can I get to the event?

A The Black Falcon Cruise Terminal in South Boston is accessible through public transportation and by car. For train transportation, take the SL2 Silver Line towards Boston Marine Industrial Park to Dry Dock Avenue at the Design Center Place stop. There is also limited public parking, as well as two garages located directly opposite of the venue (at the Boston Design Center and across Dry Dock Ave).
