The Cookout FAQ
Q. What is the Cookout?
A. This year we are expanding our popular Battle of the Burger event into a 2-night program featuring two sizzling hot events:
Night 1: The Cue
This smoking hot event will be the first to bring BBQ to Boston on this scale. The Cue, our 1st annual BBQ Classic will feature a select group of leading chefs in the Boston area, cooking tastes of their favorite BBQ dishes to a hungry audience, and showcasing what is hot and trendy in the world of BBQ.
Vote once a day for your favorite mixologist through July 7 for a chance to win an epic trip to a three day music festival in Austin (Austin City Limits)! The top 10 will be pouring live at the event, angling for your final vote.
While at the event, guests will also taste other summer classic foods like grilled shrimp and corn, clam chowder, and the ever-popular ice cream bar.
Day 2: Battle of the Burger
Boston magazine will host the 3rd annual Battle of the Burger in Boston. Leading up to the event, we invite the city of Boston to vote on bostonmagazine.com which chefs/restaurants have the best burger in town through July 7.
The top 20 vote recipients are invited to compete at this one day event to see who comes out on top and head to an annual event in Miami, February 2015. Guests will be able to sample burgers from the competitors and vote right there at the event. See photos from the 2013 event.
Q. Can I purchase bundled event tickets for the two night Cookout? Or do I have to buy separate tickets for each night?
A. Tickets are available for each night separately (night 1: The CUE, night 2: Battle of the Burger), but can also be bought as a bundle for the two night Cookout event. Click the “Event Tickets” tab to purchase tickets. Tickets are limited, so don’t delay!
Q. Are there any ticket giveaways?
A. Every time you vote for your favorite burger through July 7, you are entered to win a pair of tickets to Battle of the Burger.
Q. How can I get to the events?
A. The Black Falcon Cruise Terminal in South Boston is accessible through public transportation and by car. For train transportation, take the SL2 Silver Line towards Boston Marine Industrial Park to Dry Dock Avenue at the Design Center Place stop. There is public parking at a garage located across Dry Dock Ave.
