Welcome to The Cue! The first night of the event is geared to attract cocktail lovers near and far. Inspired by our first "Best Bars" issue, debuting this August, we have reinvented The Cue to celebrate the craft of the cocktail. This classy event is a cocktail connoisseur’s dream, bringing the best bartenders in the city together as curated by our award-winning food and beverage editorial team. Hosted by Joe Gatto, chef, author, and host of the cutting edge cooking show ‘From Scratch,’ The Cue brings our cocktail cravings and BBQ dreams to life!

Burgers, burgers, and more burgers — our 5th annual Battle of the Burger is back and ready to make your mouth water. . The top 25 vote recipients are below and will compete live at the event on August 10 to see who comes out on top and head to an annual event in Miami. Guests will be able to sample burgers from the competitors and vote right there at the event.

This year, it is an open field—The Blue Ox has hit the win quota!

No one competitor may win more than 3 times, which means that our reigning champion, The Blue Ox, will not be competing this year. It is an open field!

Q: What is The Cue? A: The Cue is a mixology competition, featuring some of the best bartenders in the Boston. Twelve of Boston’s best mixologists will be mixing cocktails live on August 9th, where a select group of leading BBQ chefs in Boston will feature their famous dishes. During the event, guests will place their final vote for their favorite cocktail. Q: What is Battle of the Burger? A: Battle of the Burger is the ultimate burger showdown—featuring 25 of Boston's best burger battling it out for the top spot. Guests are able to sample burgers from the competitors and vote for their favorite.

Voting ends in early July and the top 25 finalists have one month to get ready! The Battle takes place at the epic one-night cook off August 10 where 2,000 guests will be able to sample burgers from competitors and place their one vote for the best burger in Boston.
Q: What if I don't eat red meat? A: While there may be a veggie burger or two voted into the top 25 competitors, there are always many side dishes to enjoy as well. From grilled corn to mini cupcakes, there is something for everyone! Q: What is included in a VIP ticket? A: A VIP ticket will grant you early entry to the event, allowing you to be first in line to try the delicious food and drinks. In addition, you will have access to the exclusive VIP lounge, featuring additional tastings and bars. At the end of the night, you will also walk away with an amazing gift bag filled with goodies from our sponsors. Q: W​hat happens if it rains? A: Cue and Battle of the Burger are both rain or shine events. In the case of rain, we will likely move the majority of the event inside. Q: I lost /forgot my ticket, what do I do? A: Your ticket can be reprinted through Eventbrite. If you have any issues, please contact abrabec@bostonmagazine.com. Q: Can I buy a ticket at the door? A: Tickets will not be available for purchase on-site. You must have a printed ticket for event entry. Tickets to both events sold out last year, so be sure to buy yours early! Q: What should I bring to Cue and Battle of the Burger? A: You should bring:

  • Non-professional film and digital cameras
  • Valid Driver's License or ID
  • Your appetite!
Q: What is Share Our Strength? A: Share Our Strength is the non-profit beneficiary of The Cue. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to support their mission. Share Our Strength provides vulnerable kids with nutritious meals, so they can focus on being kids—not being hungry. To learn more about Share Our Strength, click here. (link to www.nokidhungry.org) Q: What is Family Reach? A: Family Reach is the non-profit beneficiary of Battle of the Burger. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to support their mission. A: We typically do not accept additional food vendor applications, as we are seeking out specific food vendors, food trucks, and other purveyors, but if you are interested in being considered, please email us abrabec@bostonmagazine.com with your company/business name, full contact and company information, and detailed information on the food items/dishes you would like to serve. Q: What happens if the event is cancelled? A: In the event the event is cancelled, ticket holders will be notified of cancellation and refund policy. Q: How can I get to the events? A: Cruiseport Boston in South Boston is accessible through public transportation and by car. By train transportation, take the SL2 Silver Line toward Boston Marine Industrial Park to Drydock Avenue at the Design Center Place stop. Q: What if I drive—where should I park? A: There is public parking at the garage located across Drydock Avenue. Q. Can I purchase bundled event tickets for the two-night event? Or do I have to buy separate tickets for each night? A. Tickets are available for each night separately (night 1: The Cue, night 2: Battle of the Burger). Q. Are there any ticket giveaways? A. Every time you vote for your favorite burger or mixologist, you are entered to win a pair of tickets to the event. We will contact the winners of the voters sweepstakes on July 11th after voting closes. Q. How can I get to the events? A. Cruiseport Boston in South Boston is accessible through public transportation and by car. For train transportation, take the SL2 Silver Line towards Boston Marine Industrial Park to Dry Dock Avenue at the Design Center Place stop. A: Since the Cruiseport is right on the water, we recommend ladies staying away from flowy dresses due to wind! We also recommend comfortable shoes since the venue is rather large! Close
