Audubon Circle has built a strong following for its laid-back warmth, good service, and reasonable prices. The young (but not collegiate) crowd chats agreeably as friendly servers bring out excellent variations on pub food to the cozy tables or the laid-back bar. Though the menu is small, it’s (thankfully) well edited and vegetarian friendly. Try the pot stickers served with stir-fried lotus root and other vegetables, or the black-bean veggie burger with chili mayo and cheddar, which stands out as a sandwich in its own right, rather than just another wanna-be meat substitute.
