Carnivores, rejoice! By day, the Butcher Shop hawks fresh organic and cured meats and pâtés. But as the day wanes, the management chalks up the specials, and fast-talking servers start pouring wine and esoteric beers. White light fixtures lend a warm glow to the red ceiling as locals—and, increasingly, foodies from around the city—start tucking into small plates of meat and cheese. It’s all the invention of chef Barbara Lynch, of No. 9 fame, so you can be sure the tidbits are top-notch. Grazers will adore the mini charcuterie selection, which includes salty, paper-thin prosciutto and duck and goose rillettes, while those with larger appetites will appreciate the pillowy gnocchi Bolognese and the rotating menu of creative pork, duck, and other meaty dishes.
