Street Style: Flower Power

Meggie Sullivan isn’t afraid to mix prints. She’s a freelance writer/photographer who contributes to New Brahmin (among other publications), a hostess at Catalyst in Kendall Square, and a fixture on the local style scene. It’s easy to see why: She effortlessly blends vintage finds and florals with basics — and a killer pair of sneaks, to boot.

What are you wearing?

I’m wearing a Gap Body maxi dress, an H&M sheer blouse, a bomber jacket from a Goodwill in Georgia, and high tops from Vans.

What’s your favorite place to shop in Boston?

For design and fashion inspiration, I like Reside, Oona’s, Rescue, and Uncle Pete’s.

What’s your take on Boston style?

Boston style tends to be a bit colorblind and disheveled. There’s a sophisticated Cambridge look that I adore, but overall I’m rarely thought-provoked by other people’s choices. When a double take does occur in response to interesting style, it’s like seeing an endangered species, a peacock on the streets. I love those.

What are you reading these days?

Right now, I just picked up a book I’ve already read called “Once a Runner” by John L. Parker. After having knee surgery, I’m needing some motivation. I’m also hoping to crack open a reiki healing manual that’s sitting next to my bed.
