Warby Parker has set its sights on Boston—Newbury Street, specifically, where the eyewear company recently opened a 1,200-square-foot retail store that’s styled to look like a library and is stocked with hip, affordable glasses. This may be Warby Parker’s first Massachusetts store, but it isn’t the New York–based brand’s only connection to the area: It’s named for Warby Pepper and Zagg Parker, characters created by Lowell’s very own Jack Kerouac.

“Paley” and “Aldous” acetate sunglasses, $95 each, 83 Newbury St., Boston, 888-492-7297, warbyparker.com.
