DRESS TO REOPEN ON BEACON HILL SEPTEMBER 2013
PRESS RELEASE – BOSTON, MA (August 15, 2013) – Dress, formerly located on Newbury Street in Back Bay, is now slated to reopen at 70 Charles Street on Beacon Hill on Tuesday, September 3, 2013.
Keeping with its original assortment aesthetic of sophisticated and modern, Dress will continue to carry many of its signature designers, including: Vanessa Bruno Athé, Fiorentini+Baker, Tucker, Issa, MiH Jeans, LuluFrost, and Loeffler Randall. For the opening Fall 2013 season, Dress will introduce many new lines to its assortment, including: Sea NY, Nili Lotan, Clare Vivier, Current/Elliott, Stateside Project, Frank & Eileen, Jennifer Zeuner, and James Perse. For Spring 2014, other new lines will join the roster, including A.P.C. and Repetto.
In addition, Dress is thrilled to announce a home décor and furniture collaboration with Beacon Hill-based Nina Farmer Interiors. The collaboration, Gallery NF by Nina Farmer Interiors, will feature custom, sourced, and vintage home accessories and furniture, like one-of-a-kind sculptural wood pieces, custom pillows and furniture made with specially-sourced fabrics from Europe, as well as blankets, vases, and other home wares both designed by Nina Farmer Interiors and sourced from collections like Match Pewter and Swans Island Company.
Dress’s collaboration with Nina Farmer Interiors also includes the design of their new 900-square-foot retail space in the historic Meeting House on Charles Street. Farmer says, “The space will have sophisticated urban simplicity. In an effort to stay true to the neighborhood, classic elements are being incorporated, such as herringbone floors and brass light fixtures.”
A significant design element in the store will be a counter top specially placed by Cumar Marble and Granite. Cumar designer Dawn Carroll describes the Calacatta Ondulato as “a stone that is millions of years old and one that sculptors world-wide used to create fine-art masterpieces. Since the days of Ancient Rome, marble has always been a first-choice luxurious decorative material providing both drama and grace.”
Other plans for Dress include the launch of a new e-commerce website later in the year. In the meantime, new arrivals will be displayed on dressboston.com and can be purchased via phone order.
