Get some rest tonight and cancel your weekend plans. The Gilt City sample sale is coming to town tomorrow night and you need to be prepared.
Step 1: Buy a Ticket
Entry time determines ticket price. To really take advantage, spend the extra cash for an early admission ticket. For even faster entry, join the FastPass line for those without coats, and with bags smaller than 5×7.
Step 2: Plot a course.
You’ll need your wits about you to navigate the racks of deeply discounted designer shoes, bags, apparel, and home décor. Balenciaga to the right, Prada on the left, Valentino, straight ahead! Luckily, a revamped layout allows shoppers to browse by price point and trend.
Step 3: Keep Up the Pace
If you start to feel your energy dwindle, turn your attention to DJ Rosé, whose energetic playlist is guaranteed to keep spirits high. But if you need real spirits, those will be available, too, as well as snacks.
Step 4: Shop Small
Also new to this year’s sale are pop-up shops from designers with lesser-known names, but worthy offerings: Don’t miss local athleisure company Crane & Lion, ROYCE leather accessories, which will be doing complimentary onsite monogramming, and April Soderstrom’s jewelry.
Step 5: Take in the Scene
Look up from the racks once in a while to chat with celebrity stylist Tonya Mezrich, who will be on hand to answer your burning fashion questions. Step 6: Prepare to Brag
