Critics say this city has no style. We’re here to prove them wrong. Welcome to HubThreads, where we chat with the most stylish people we find out and about in Boston. Think you or someone you know has the best street style? Let us know.

AUDREY

I hear that you work for Samson Projects. Yes, I work for Camilo and his wife Alexandra.

What is your background? I moved to America from Singapore to go to art school at the Museum School.

How long ago was that? Eight years ago. And then after school, I ran the printmaking and papermaking studio at the Museum School.

How did you get hooked up with these guys? I’ve always walked by the Samson Projects’ gallery and thought it was the best gallery in Boston in terms of contemporary art. Even as a student, I really wanted to work here. Finally in my senior year, I applied for an internship, scored one and I’ve been here ever since.

What do you do for them? I’m the registrar, so basically like the gallery operations assistant. I handle the day-to-day operations.

How would you describe your style? Some days I look like the biggest lesbian ever and then other days, I look like a 10-year-old boy.

That’s a really good answer. Do you have any style icons? Lucy Chadwick, do you know her? She’s the gallery director at Gavin Brown’s Enterprise in New York, and she just walked in a show at New York Fashion Week. They invited her to walk in a show for these young designers, I can’t remember which one…oh Eckhaus Latta!  Lucy’s definitely a fashion icon and she also does such a similar job as me. I think everyone working in the art world has a very specific sense of style, so its always good to see.
