Transportation Safety Board Wants Our Hands Off The Phone and On The Steering Wheel

Transportation Safety Board Wants Our Hands Off The Phone and On The Steering Wheel. If the National Transportation Safety Board had its way, not one of us would be on the phone while behind the wheel — hands-free, be damned. The board has no actual jurisdiction over law, so this is only a recommendation. But given that more than 3,000 people died on the roads last year because of cell phones, we do see the board’s point. As one NTSB representative said: “This (distracted driving) is becoming the new DUI.” [CNN]
