Where to Workout on Thanksgiving Day

It’s hard to believe, but people only gain one or two pounds a year between Thanksgiving and New Years, according to the National Institutes of Health. But that can easily translate into 20 pounds over the course of 10 years if you are not paying attention. This holiday season, beat the odds and step up your fitness game by starting now and preparing for the season ahead.

Here’s a list of gyms and classes open this Thanksgiving holiday:

Ultimate Bootcamp is holding a 90 minute Thanksgiving Day Bootcamp Blast at three locations, and 100 percent of the proceeds go to local charities. Classes will be held in Boston, Watertown and Providence, RI. $25; ultimatebootcamp.com

If you are looking to shape up over the entire holiday season, there are some workout series options to whip you in shape:

Boston Sports Clubs is offering UXF Ripped, a four-week-long, twice a week program open to members and non-members for $199. The class combines kettlebells, heavy ropes, box jumps and more, promising to burn up to 600 calories per class. The next session starts December 10th. bostonsportsclubs.com

RX Training in Cambridge is offering a five week, 14 class series called Turkey Burn. The classes will use kettlebells, ropes, and barbells all designed to burn body fat and develop a lean physique before the holidays. For $99, attendees can choose between morning or evening classes.
