CorePower Yoga, the popular brand of hot yoga that already has 81 locations across the U.S. will open its first studio in Massachusetts Friday in Cambridge. The studio, (the 82nd in the nation and the third studio opening on the East Coast in the last eight months), focuses on making yoga accessible to all, meaning they keep the studios fun and light without all the pretentious yoga drama that can come with a high-end studio.

The popular Denver-based yoga company’s new location is at the back of the Fresh Pond Mall (170R Alewife Brook Parkway). CorePower Yoga’s main class is a dynamic heated Power Yoga that will be offered for beginners, intermediates, and advanced students. It’s a physically challenging style of heated power yoga. In addition, the studio will also offer Yoga Sculpt and Hot Power Fusion classes.

The Fresh Pond Studio is 10,000 square feet which makes it the largest CorePower Yoga studio of the all. There’s four yoga rooms and something that many yoga studios don’t have: showers! “We are beyond thrilled to open in one of the nation’s most charming cities,” says JC Lippold, CorePower Yoga’s Fresh Pond studio manager. “The Cambridge community has been so welcoming.”

The grand opening weekend starts Friday. The first 50 people to take a class will receive a free Manduka travel mat. Three people will receive a month of free yoga, and all new students (Isn’t everyone a “new” student since it is brand new?) will receive one week of unlimited free yoga classes.
