If you’ve always been curious about acupuncture but were too scared (or broke) to try it, here’s your chance. On Thursday, April 10, Pathways to Wellness in the South End is offering a women’s health workshop (sorry, fellas) called, “Acupuncture & Women’s Health,” which will explore how acupuncture and Chinese herbs can help regulate your menstrual cycle, treat infertility, support pregnancy and lactation, and eliminate menopausal hot flashes and insomnia. The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years in Eastern medicine, but recently has also been the subject of a variety of clinical trails in Western medicine. Studies have found that acupuncture can be an effective treatment for depression and pain, and is currently under study for a slew of other ailments.  In fact, there’s even evidence that suggests acupuncture can help with digestive issues, and some people are even using it to treat wrinkles.

This workshop will be held in the 2nd floor conference room at South End Community Health Center, 1601 Washington St., South End, Boston; 617-859-3036; pathwaystowellness.org
